Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his distinctive mix of soul gospel jazz R&B as well as R&B. She has appeared on stages all over the world, from Broadway through The Democratic National Convention to the European music scene and the club scenes. Sunshine is a name that she has given her is Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta her birthplace was Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical journey began in the church, where she sang as well as was a pianist. She studied at Spellman College and began to master the R&B style that is popular in Atlanta. She took on the role of primary keyboardist at Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award winner) approached her for an opportunity to be the choir conductor for Dreamgirls in Atlanta in the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was recognized nationally for her daily shows at the Democratic National Convention. She was later invited to sing at President Barack Obama's inaugural in 2009.
